biography/
Nathalia Edenmont's use of dead animals as the subject of her work has raised much controversy and critical debate. Her current focus is on butterflies, chosen for their intricate patterns
on their wings, disarmingly resembling the human eyeball. All these are arranged painstakingly to trigger an effect of dizzying staring involving the viewer and the art piece. This begs
the question: who exactly stares at whom? This talented Ukrainian artist's works provide an insight into her engagement with the paradoxes of life, observed within the framework of Western
morality, as suggested by many of her chosen themes.
